What is the Latest Express Entry draw?

Canada in its latest Express Entry draw on November 5 issued 4,500 new Invitations to Apply. And till now Canada has issued 87,350 Invitations this year.

4,500 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 478 were invited to apply.

The French-speaking applicants were given more CRS points in this draw. As per the new announcement by IRCC, the French speaking candidates get additional 25 points for their language skills i.e. 15 points and bilingual candidates will get 50 points/

Usually, IRCC holds Express Entry draws every two weeks, however, this draw got delayed due to the necessary updates to be made on all the profiles in the express entry.

This is the third time where Canada has issues 4500 invitations at a time, the biggest number of invitations issued.

The highest scoring candidates who receive an ITA, will be able to get Canadian Permanent Residency.

During the draws, in case of a tie between the candidates, IRCC applies a tie-breaking rule.

In the entire 2020, till now, the CRS has typically hovered around and above 470 points. In one instance, on August 6th, the Federal Skilled Trades Program had its CRS dipped to 415 and the previous Canadian Experience Class (CEC) dipped to 440.

PNP- only draws have higher requirement for the candidates, as they get additional 600 CRS points if they receive a provincial nomination. PNP’s have alternate pathways to the candidates who have low CRS scores required for permanent residency.

The new draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020 to 87,350. This year is shaping up to be a new record-breaking year for Express Entry, as the number of ITAs issued to d ate is the highest it has ever been.

At the end of October, Canada announced its multi-year immigration levels plan, promising to welcome over 400,000 new permanent residents every year until 2023. More than 100,000 of these new immigrants will come in through Express Entry-managed programs in the Federal High Skilled category.

Express Entry is Canada’s immigration application management system for three federal economic-class programs: Federal Skilled Worker ProgramFederal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates in these programs, as well as some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are given a score based on the CRS. Points are awarded depending on a candidates human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.
