On March 15, 2021, we filed the following amending regulations made under the&nbsp;OINP Act to introduce an Expression of Interest system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Expression of Interest system will help us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>strategically manage intake<\/li><li>increase the&nbsp;OINP\u2019s labour market responsiveness<\/li><li>better respond to regional labour market needs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Expression of Interest system will apply to the following OINP streams:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Employer Job Offer Category streams (Foreign Worker, International Student and In- Demand skills)<\/li><li>Master Graduate stream<\/li><li>Ph.D Graduate stream<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These streams are currently closed to new applicants. They will open for new applicants when the Expression of Interest system launches in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Expression of Interest system is a points-based registration system that helps us select skilled economic immigrants to meet the province\u2019s labour market needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By registering, you are only expressing an interest to apply to the&nbsp;OINP. It is not an application to the&nbsp;OINP&nbsp;or for permanent residence. You can only apply to the OINP under an Expression of Interest-based stream if you have been invited to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We consulted on the development of the Expression of Interest system in September 2020 using:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>stakeholder consultations<\/li><li>a posting on Ontario\u2019s Regulatory Registry&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Stakeholder feedback was considered where possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information will be posted in the coming weeks.
