The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Federal Government of Canada\u00a0came to an agreement<\/a>\u00a0after a strike lasting from April 19th to May 1st. The strike had an impact on over 155,000 public servants, including those of\u00a0Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada<\/a>\u00a0(IRCC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRCC gives an update on impact of labour disruption<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. If you are in Canada, your in person immigration related appointments were cancelled due to strike are in process of being rescheduled.<\/li>
  2. IRCC has resumed processing domestic passport applications. Your applications will be processed and there is no need to reapply. Also you will get real-time updates.<\/li>
  3. If you applied for passport prior to strike, the application is being processed and you may contact passport office to request that your application be prioritized.<\/li>
  4. Due to the impact of strike IRCC experiencing high volume of applications. In results, delay in applications to be expected even for those are being prioritized.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
