These initiatives come as a response to recent concerns regarding fraudulent activities surrounding the program. In this blog post, we delve into the comprehensive measures being undertaken to enhance the integrity and efficiency of Canada&#8217;s Foreign Students Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Enhanced Verification Processes for Acceptance Letters:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Effective December 1, 2023, designated learning institutions (DLIs) at the postsecondary level will be mandated to authenticate the acceptance letters of all applicants through the IRCC. This essential measure aims to protect prospective students from falling victim to letter-of-acceptance fraud, ensuring a more secure and reliable application process. The move will also ensure that study permits are issued exclusively on the basis of authentic letters of acceptance, fostering transparency and credibility within the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Introducing the &#8220;Recognized Institutions Framework&#8221;: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anticipated for the fall 2024 academic term, IRCC will establish a &#8220;Recognized Institutions Framework&#8221; designed to elevate the standards of services, support, and outcomes for international students in Canadian designated learning institutions (DLIs). This framework is set to offer numerous advantages, including priority processing of study permit applications, to DLIs that meet specific IRCC integrity criteria. The initiative aims to foster a nurturing and conducive environment for international students, emphasizing quality education and a seamless integration process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refining the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acknowledging the significant role of the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program in supporting Canada&#8217;s labour market, IRCC has initiated a comprehensive review of the program. With an aim to recalibrate the PGWP in alignment with regional and Francophone immigration objectives, as well as the evolving demands of the Canadian job market, IRCC will announce substantial reforms in the forthcoming months.
