{"id":2649,"date":"2025-05-20T14:00:38","date_gmt":"2025-05-20T18:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cadimmigration.com\/?p=2649"},"modified":"2025-05-20T14:00:40","modified_gmt":"2025-05-20T18:00:40","slug":"manitoba-targets-overseas-skilled-workers-in-latest-provincial-nominee-draw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cadimmigration.com\/?p=2649","title":{"rendered":"Manitoba Targets Overseas Skilled Workers in Latest Provincial Nominee Draw"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In its latest effort to attract global talent and address local labour shortages, Manitoba has invited 62 skilled foreign workers to apply for permanent residency through its <strong>Skilled Workers Overseas<\/strong> stream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The draw, conducted under the <strong>Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)<\/strong> on <strong>May 15, 2025<\/strong>, specifically targeted candidates residing outside Canada who demonstrate a <strong>strong connection to the province<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Breakdown of the Draw<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the 62 individuals invited in this round, <strong>eight candidates were registered in Canada\u2019s Express Entry system<\/strong>, holding valid profile numbers and job seeker validation codes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>lowest-ranked candidate<\/strong> in this draw had a <strong>score of 626<\/strong>, calculated using Manitoba\u2019s points-based Expression of Interest (EOI) system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Who Was Eligible?<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This draw was limited to individuals who were <strong>specifically invited by the MPNP<\/strong> as part of a <strong>Strategic Recruitment Initiative<\/strong> \u2014 a targeted program aimed at filling labour gaps in Manitoba\u2019s workforce with international talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for the <strong>Skilled Workers Overseas stream<\/strong>, candidates must meet a combination of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have a <strong>genuine connection<\/strong> to Manitoba, through:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support from family or friends living in the province;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous employment or education in Manitoba;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or having received a formal <strong>Invitation to Apply<\/strong> from the MPNP as part of a <strong>strategic initiative<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, candidates must score a <strong>minimum of 60 points<\/strong> on Manitoba\u2019s <strong>assessment grid<\/strong>, which evaluates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Education<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language ability<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Work experience<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Age<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adaptability<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Understanding Strategic Recruitment Initiatives<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Strategic recruitment initiatives are <strong>employer-driven efforts<\/strong> coordinated by the MPNP to bring in international workers with skills that cannot be sourced locally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employers who can prove a persistent need for certain roles must go through Manitoba\u2019s <strong>ABC Recruitment process<\/strong>, after which they may nominate foreign candidates who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet specific eligibility benchmarks (regarding age, education, work experience, and language skills),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have secured a <strong>full-time, long-term job offer<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intend to <strong>live permanently in Manitoba<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Importantly, these initiatives give <strong>preference to individuals planning to reside outside the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region<\/strong>, helping to distribute talent throughout the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates cannot apply directly under this stream without an invitation.
