Once a job offer is endorsed by the local economic development organization, the candidate can apply for <strong>permanent residence<\/strong> and, in some cases, a temporary work permit while waiting for their PR to be processed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, due to <strong>exceptionally high interest<\/strong> in the program \u2014 far exceeding available spots \u2014 many communities are struggling to manage the influx of applications. As a result, they have begun implementing measures to control demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Regional Updates &amp; Changes<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. North Okanagan-Shuswap (British Columbia)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cancelled July 17 intake due to excessive backlog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three more intakes planned for 2025, but <strong>applications from Fast Food and Gas Station employers will no longer be accepted<\/strong> due to \u201coverwhelming demand and limited recommendations.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Peace Liard (British Columbia)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reached capacity for employer designation applications in July.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pause on employer designations until November 2025.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During its first RCIP candidate intake on August 1, the maximum number of applications was received in under 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
