This development is a positive step after the federal government\u2019s earlier decision to cut overall provincial and territorial PNP allocations by 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made on <strong>August 21, 2025<\/strong>, through the Yukon government\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Why this matters:<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yukon has been actively advocating for more nomination spaces to address employer needs and labor shortages. After processing, <strong>161 nominations<\/strong> remained available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>May 2025 ITA Round (23\u201327 May)<\/strong>:<br>The YNP issued <strong>153 Invitations to Apply (ITAs)<\/strong>, which included:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>19 Temporary Measure Letter of Support recipients (from 2024 carry-overs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>54 Temporary Measure Letter of Support recipients (2025 intake)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>78 applicants who aligned with priorities such as <strong>Francophone immigration<\/strong> and <strong>Yukon post-secondary graduates<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 professionals in <strong>regulated healthcare positions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Withdrawals<\/strong>:<br>13 ITAs were later withdrawn by either employers or the department, leaving <strong>80 new invitations available<\/strong> in August 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Healthcare Set-Aside<\/strong>:<br>The YNP has reserved <strong>10 nomination spaces specifically for regulated healthcare professionals<\/strong> until <strong>September 20, 2025<\/strong>, to address urgent healthcare labor shortages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Expression of Interest (EOI) System<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yukon introduced its new <strong>Expression of Interest (EOI) system<\/strong> on <strong>March 31, 2025<\/strong>. Within just three weeks (closing on April 22, 2025), the YNP received <strong>over 500 submissions<\/strong> from employers nominating foreign workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of these, nearly <strong>400 applications<\/strong> aligned with Yukon\u2019s key priorities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Candidates living and working in Yukon for at least one year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduates from Yukon\u2019s post-secondary institutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Francophone (French-speaking) applicants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Temporary Measure Letter of Support holders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Streams under the YNP<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Foreign nationals can be nominated through one of the following streams:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Critical Impact Worker Stream<\/strong> (TEER 4 or 5 jobs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Skilled Worker Stream<\/strong> (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 jobs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Express Entry Stream<\/strong> (aligned with federal EE system)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yukon Community Pilot Program<\/strong> (closed now)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Yukon offers a <strong>Business Nominee Program<\/strong> for entrepreneurs wishing to establish and run a business in the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Why This Increase Is Important<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yukon faces significant labor shortages, especially in healthcare, skilled trades, and service industries.
