This can be a degree, diploma, certificate or other proof of your education.<\/p>\n<h3>How to get an ECA<\/h3>\n<h4>Choose a designated organization<\/h4>\n<p>You can get your assessment from any of these organizations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.utoronto.ca\/comparative-education-service\/apply-now\/new-applicants\" rel=\"external\">Comparative Education Service \u2013 University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.icascanada.ca\/new\/immigration-to-canada.aspx\" rel=\"external\">International Credential Assessment Service of Canada<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wes.org\/fswp\" rel=\"external\">World Education Services<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alberta.ca\/iqas-immigration.aspx\" rel=\"external\">International Qualifications Assessment Service<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcit.ca\/ices\/eca\/\" rel=\"external\">International Credential Evaluation Service<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Check the websites of the approved organizations or contact them directly to find out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>what documents you need<\/li>\n<li>how much it will cost<\/li>\n<li>how long an assessment will take<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Apply for your assessment<\/h4>\n<p>Make sure you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>apply for an ECA for immigration purposes<\/li>\n<li>gather all the documents the organization needs to assess your education<\/li>\n<li>ask your school for multiple copies of your degrees, diplomas, transcripts, etc.<\/li>\n<li>follow any instructions given to submit the documents, and<\/li>\n<li>pay the fees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What your report means<\/h3>\n<p>Once you get your education assessed, the organization will give you an ECA report that will tell you if your foreign credentials are equal to a completed Canadian one-year post-secondary education credential or higher.<\/p>\n<p>If your report shows that your completed foreign credential is equal to a completed Canadian one-year post-secondary education credential or higher, you can apply through the home child care provider or home support worker pilot.<\/p>\n<h3>What to include in your application<\/h3>\n<p>In your application, include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an\u00a0<strong>original ECA report<\/strong>, and<\/li>\n<li>copies of your degrees, diplomas, transcripts or other proof of your completed foreign credential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make sure to keep a copy of the report for your records and future use.<\/p>\n<p>Your ECA report must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be issued on or after the date the organization was approved by us<\/li>\n<li>be less than 5 years old on the date that we get your application, and<\/li>\n<li>show that your completed foreign credential is equal to a completed Canadian one-year post-secondary education credential or higher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019ll check any ECA report submitted with an application with the organization that produced the report.<\/p>\n<p><em>Source:\u00a0https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/services\/immigration-citizenship.html\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How Can I Get My Education Assessed?
