Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact candidates are now closer to permanent residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program<\/a> (PEI PNP) issued a total of 254 invitations. Most of the invitations, 221, went to Express Entry<\/a> and Labour Impact<\/a> candidates. Business Impact<\/a> candidates took home the remaining 33, as long as they had a minimum point threshold of 92.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Provincial Nominee Programs<\/a> (PNPs) allow Canada\u2019s provinces and territories to select immigration candidates who meet their labour market needs. They sometimes align with Canada\u2019s federal Express Entry system<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PEI Express Entry Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The PEI PNP\u2019s Express Entry Category is an enhanced PNP, which means it works within the Canadian government\u2019s Express Entry system<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Express Entry manages the applications for three economic-class immigration categories: Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a>, Federal Skilled Trades Program<\/a>, and Canadian Experience Class<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eligible candidates are given a Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a> (CRS) score for their age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English and French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Express Entry candidates<\/a> who receive a provincial nomination are given an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation to Apply<\/a> (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from PEI, Express Entry candidates need to create an EOI profile with the PEI PNP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n EOI profiles are given points based on the province\u2019s unique points grid. The highest-scoring candidates are then invited to apply through monthly draws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The PEI PNP did not provide a breakdown of how many Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates were invited, nor the minimum EOI score required for each category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Labour Impact Category<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Labour Impact Category is for foreign nationals who have a valid job offer in PEI, and have support from their employer. It is divided into three streams: Skilled Worker<\/a>, Critical Worker<\/a>, and International Graduate<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Candidates in this category must also submit an EOI profile in order to be considered for a provincial nomination through the Labour Impact Category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Business Impact Category<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 33 candidates who were invited through the Business Impact Category on November 19 needed a minimum EOI score of 92.
