International Experience Canada Pools to open for 2020 season.

Posted by in CIC News, on December 11, 2019

The International Experience Canada (IEC) program is set to open to the young adults who thereby, wish to live and work in Canada on a temporary basis.

This program was scheduled to open its various IEC pools for the 2020 season on the December 9, 2019 but technical difficulties forced a delay.

The International Experience Canada program allows people to experience Canada and may be an initiative towards the permanent residence.

The IEC selects the candidates under the three distinct categories:

  • International Co-op
  • Young Professionals
  • Working Holidays

The young adults, ages 18 to 35, from one of 36 eligible countries may now create a profile and if are considered eligible may be entered into their country’s pool of candidates for their selected category or categories.

Staying In Canada after the IEC (International Experience Canada)

It is possible to turn the IEC into a path towards permanent residence.

The Canadian Experience Class is an immigration program for the people who have at least one year of Canadian work Experience. IEC participants may also be eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) or Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC).

All the three of these immigration programs are managed through Canada’s Express Entry system.

Thereby, the experience gained from the IEC can help boost an Express Entry Candidates chance of being selected for an invitation to apply for the permanent residence; Canadian work experience is highly under the CRS.
