IRCC Holds New Express Entry Draw: 192 PNP Candidates Invited with 800 CRS Cut-Off
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its latest Express Entry draw on August 18, 2025, inviting 192 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
This draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 800, making it the second-highest CRS cut-off of the year. The highest so far in 2025 was 802 points in February’s PNP draw.
To be considered in this round, candidates needed to have:
- A valid Express Entry profile submitted before February 11, 2025, at 7:17 p.m. UTC.
- A provincial nomination, which adds 600 additional CRS points to their base score.
This draw marks the fourth Express Entry round in August and the 15th PNP-focused draw of 2025. With this latest update, IRCC has now issued 53,320 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through Express Entry in 2025.
The distribution of draws shows a clear trend: while PNP remains the primary focus, IRCC has also targeted specific categories such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, and education-related candidates.
This strategy indicates Canada’s ongoing effort to balance regional immigration needs through PNP while also filling critical labour market gaps across healthcare, education, and Francophone communities.
