Alberta Holds Five Provincial Immigration Draws – Invites 202 Candidates Across Key Sectors

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) continues its proactive approach to addressing labour shortages and supporting the province’s economic growth. Between October 8 and October 21, 2025, Alberta conducted five separate provincial immigration draws, inviting a total of 202 skilled candidates to apply for provincial nomination.

The largest number of invitations came from the Accelerated Tech Pathway on October 21, highlighting the strong demand for skilled professionals in Alberta’s rapidly evolving technology sector.

AAIP’s 2025 Progress and Sectoral Focus

So far in 2025, Alberta has held:

  • 8 draws under the Accelerated Tech Pathway
  • 5 draws under Priority Sectors (Aviation)
  • 6 draws under Priority Sectors (Agriculture)
  • 10 draws under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Non-Express Entry)
  • 10 draws under the Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry)

Altogether, the province has completed 69 draws this year, emphasizing Alberta’s strong commitment to meeting labour demands in priority fields such as construction, healthcare, agriculture, and aviation.

Nomination Figures for 2025

Initially, Alberta was allocated 4,875 nomination slots for 2025. However, the federal government granted an additional 1,528 nominations, increasing the total to 6,403.

As of October 21, 2025, the province has issued 4,689 nominations, leaving 1,714 spaces still available for qualified candidates.

Pathways Under the Alberta Express Entry Stream

The AAIP continues to accept candidates through three key Express Entry pathways:

  • Dedicated Healthcare Pathway
  • Accelerated Tech Pathway
  • Law Enforcement Pathway

These pathways enable skilled workers to receive a provincial nomination, significantly increasing their chances of obtaining permanent residence in Canada.
