Single Online Assessment Now Simplifies Access to Express Entry–Linked PNPs

One form replaces a complex provincial search

Foreign nationals pursuing Canadian permanent residence through the Express Entry system now have access to a simplified assessment method that allows them to check eligibility for all Express Entry–aligned Provincial Nominee Programs (enhanced PNPs) at once.

Previously, identifying eligible provincial pathways required extensive research across dozens of program guides, eligibility matrices, and provincial documents. In many cases, applicants relied on paid representatives or spent weeks navigating technical criteria on their own.

Why enhanced PNPs matter for Express Entry candidates

A provincial nomination remains one of the strongest advantages within the Express Entry system. Candidates who receive a nomination gain an additional 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

Beyond the CRS boost, enhanced PNPs also allow candidates to be considered in provincial-specific Express Entry draws, which often have lower cut-off scores than federal rounds.

Centralized eligibility assessment in minutes

The new assessment approach enables candidates to complete a single online form, which evaluates eligibility across 20+ enhanced PNP streams in under ten minutes.

Rather than manually reviewing each province’s criteria, the system consolidates eligibility rules and matches a candidate’s profile against all available Express Entry–linked nomination programs simultaneously.

How the assessment process works

Candidates complete the assessment using any web browser on desktop or mobile. The process includes:

  • Entering personal and immigration profile details
  • Providing education, language proficiency, and work experience information
  • Classifying work experience using Canada’s National Occupation Classification (NOC) system

Instead of relying on job titles alone, applicants are guided to select the correct NOC code based on actual job duties and responsibilities, ensuring more accurate eligibility results.

Accurate NOC selection improves results

The assessment process assists candidates in identifying the correct NOC by:

  • Suggesting occupation codes through a searchable dropdown
  • Allowing comparison of official job duties with personal work experience
  • Enabling confirmation when most core duties align

This reduces the risk of misclassification, one of the most common reasons candidates misunderstand their eligibility.

After completing the assessment and saving their profile, candidates receive a detailed breakdown of eligible enhanced PNP streams, organized by province and selection type.

The platform also enables users to:

  • Track how eligibility changes over time
  • Receive guidance on improving qualification gaps
  • Identify missing requirements such as job offers, language scores, or education credentials

Whenever profile details are updated, the assessment automatically refreshes to reflect current eligibility.

For those who do not initially qualify for any enhanced PNP streams, the assessment provides targeted insights into what steps are needed to build eligibility, such as:

  • Improving language test scores
  • Gaining additional skilled work experience
  • Securing qualifying employment offers
  • Completing further education

This forward-looking approach helps candidates plan strategically instead o
