What will be the Biometrics scheduling for Canada during the pandemic?

Posted by in CIC News, on November 30, 2020

Beginning Monday November 30, 2020, the Service Canada will resume scheduling biometrics appointment system .

This will help Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) clients to book their own biometrics appointments online and the same would be more efficient.

Service Canada officers had started contacting the IRCC clients for scheduling the biometrics appointments since mid-September.

However, from this coming Monday, clients who were not yet contacted can use the online scheduling tool to book their biometrics appointment, as noted in their biometrics instruction letter.

IRCC also in its new release mentioned that clients can book their appointment at the Service Canada office closest to them.

It should be noted that the walk-in service is not available, so only those applicants who have booked prior online appointment should be able to submit their biometrics at Service Canada locations.

Applicants for permanent residence who have not submitted biometrics within the last 10 years will need an appointment to meet the biometrics component of their immigration application processing.

IRCC also notified that biometrics exemptions continue to be in effect for temporary residence applicants in Canada, and permanent residence applicants who have already submitted their biometrics in the last 10 years.
