B.C. invited 168 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence on January 5, 2021.

British Columbia PNP has issued invitations through Express Entry and the Skilled Migration stream.

Candidates who are given invitations fall under these sub-categories which includes the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled.

Given below is the detailed breakdown of the sub-categories which were included in the draw, along with the minimum score requirement.

  • Skills Immigration: Skilled Worker: 95
  • Skills Immigration: International Graduate: 95
  • Skills Immigration Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled: 77
  • Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker: 99
  • Express Entry BC: International Graduate: 99

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the activities of various sectors and businesses in British Columbia. For the same reason, some occupations were and at present have been excluded from recent draws. The list of occupations not a part of the BC PNP is available on its official website.

The Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams of the BC PNP are made to bring and retain international workers or graduates who have the right education and work experience to work in positions which are in high-demand in British Columbia.

If someone is keen in applying under one of those two streams, the first step is to create a profile on the BC PNP’s online portal and register under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). The applicant will be then evaluated over various factors and given a score on their level of education, work experience, proficiency in English, and others.

If the applicant’s application is approved, the applicant can then use their provincial nomination to apply for permanent residence with IRCC under the PNP.

Having a profile in the Express Entry system and receiving a nomination from British Columbia will give you an additional 600 points toward your Express Entry CRS score.

These added points will essentially guarantee that you will receive an  Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a future federal Express Entry draw.

Express Entry draws generally take place every two weeks.

B.C. holds draws through its various BC PNP categories and streams on a weekly basis.

Candidates who are invited to apply for a provincial nomination have 30 days to submit a complete application.
