Express Entry: 5,000 invited in new draw

Canada surpassed 100,000 Invitations to apply (ITA’s)in 2020, an unprecedented number of new invitations.

Canada invited 5,000 ne immigration applicants to apply for permanent residence in its new Express Entry draw which took place on December 9.

All the candidates invited were supposed to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 469 points.

This draw led to approximately 102,350 invitations issued this year, a record high number of invitations.

Express Entry is the Canada’s most successful immigration application management system for its three federal economic-class programs which are the federal skilled worker program, federal skilled trades program and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates eligible for these programs and PNPs (Provincial Nomnee Program), are given points based on the CRS i.e. Comprehensive Ranking System.

Each applicant gets a score on a candidates’ human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French.

The candidates with the highest score cut-off receives an Invitation to apply from the IRCC, and after which the applicants can apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The number of ITAs issued by IRCC till date has been the highest ever.

Canada has surpassed its ITA target on November 18, when a record-breaking 5,000 ITAs were issued. There has also never been a single year where the number of ITAs issued surpassed 100,000.
