Canada Invites 5,000 French-Speaking Candidates Through Express Entry for Permanent Residence

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to French-speaking candidates in the latest Express Entry draw, creating new opportunities for bilingual skilled workers seeking permanent residence in Canada.

The draw was conducted on July 9, 2026, and targeted candidates with French-language proficiency under the Express Entry category-based selection system.

To be eligible for this invitation round, candidates needed:

  • A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 420; and
  • An Express Entry profile created before 8:04 a.m. Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on May 15, 2026.

Largest French-Language Express Entry Draw Since March 2026

This latest draw marks one of the biggest French-language Express Entry rounds of the year, with 5,000 ITAs issued to eligible candidates.

The CRS cut-off score of 420 shows that French-language proficiency continues to provide a significant advantage for candidates looking to improve their chances of receiving an invitation for Canadian permanent residence.

  • Provincial Nominee Program: 5,939 ITAs
  • Healthcare and Social Services: 8,000 ITAs
  • Trades: 3,000 ITAs
  • Physicians with Canadian Work Experience: 662 ITAs
  • Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience: 250 ITAs
