Express Entry Surge: June Sees Highest Number of Draws in 2025 as Competition Heats Up in CRS Pool

Canada’s Express Entry System Ramps Up Activity in June 2025, Issuing Over 7,400 Invitations

Canada’s Express Entry immigration system saw a major surge in activity in June 2025, with more Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued than in April and May combined. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held six separate draws throughout the month—more than any other month so far this year.

This spike signals increased momentum from IRCC as it seeks to meet its annual immigration targets and address labour shortages across the country.

June 2025: Breakdown of Express Entry Draws

In total, 7,405 ITAs were issued through a combination of general and category-based draws. The draws focused on three major selection streams:

  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Category-based selection for healthcare and social services occupations

The number and type of invitations issued through each draw in June were as follows:

The distribution of CRS scores reveals a highly competitive landscape, especially among candidates scoring between 451 and 500, where tens of thousands of candidates are concentrated.
