Saskatchewan through its SINP invited 534 candidates from the Express Entry and Occupation-in Demand candidates in its latest draw held pm November 3rd 2020.
In order to be invited for this draw, the candidates were required to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles in SINP. The applicants for Express Entry as well as the Occupation-in Demand were with a minimum cut-off of 68 points, however the requirements were different.
There were 272 candidates who were invited through the express-entry, and all those candidates were required to have at least 10 years of Work Experience and CLB level 8 or higher. Or the candidates were to have an EOI score of 69 or more. 47 occupations were included in the Express Entry sub-category.
Under the occupations In-demand category, 262 candidates from 55 occupations were invited in this draw.
The SINP uses the EOI system to select the candidates that have the most potential to succeed in the regional labour market. Candidates need to demonstrate their commitment to building a life in Saskatchewan by showcasing their work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province.
SINP assesses the candidates on five factors, and allocates them a score out of 100 on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The highest scoring candidates are then issued an invitation to apply for a nomination under SINP.
Express Entry sub-category
Under the Express Entry profile, Saskatchewan invited 272 candidates who has their profiles in the federal Express Entry pool.

If candidates in the federal Express Entry pool fill out an EOI for Saskatchewan, and they score 68 on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid , then they would have been invited under SINP.
All the candidates who apply for SINP and receive a nomination from Saskatchewan are awarded an additional 600 points toward their (CRS) score. This effectively guarantees that they will receive and ITA (Invitation to Apply) for permanent residence in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw, as most invitation rounds invite candidates with scores above 470.
Occupations In-Demand sub-category
The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is open to immigration applicants who don’t have a federal Express Entry profile. This program is for the applicants who work in occupations that have labour shortages in Saskatchewan.
